Introduction

Input-Output (I-O) tables are part of the Australian national accounts, complementing the quarterly and annual series of national income, expenditure and product aggregates. They provide detailed information about the supply and use of products in the Australian economy and about the structure of and inter-relationships between Australian industries.

This publication contains the final release of the input-output tables for 2005-06 and includes input by industry and output by product group; use of domestic production and imports by industry and final demand categories, and taxes and margins on supply by product (Tables 1-10, 19-20, 23-39).

The 2005-06 Input Output tables are the last ones to be produced on a 1993 Australian and New Zealand Industry Classification (ANZSIC93) and 1993 System of National Accounts (SNA93) basis.

For further information about these and related statistics, contact the National Information and Referral Service on 1300 135 070 or Rob Burnside on Canberra (02) 6252 6718, email <rob.burnside@abs.gov.au>.
